At the end of each year, HLTV.org, an authoritative information portal dedicated to events from the world of CS:GO, summarizes and presents its own TOP-20 players to the public.
Moreover, the editors of the portal chose an interesting way to publish their list of the best players of the outgoing year. Starting from the first of January, a new name is added daily, starting with the TOP-20, then comes the TOP-19 and so on. Moreover, the names of the three best players will be announced as part of a special ceremony taking place at the HLTV Award Show 2022 event.
TOP 20 best CS:GO players of 2022
1. Oleksandr “s1mple” Kostyliev
The 20-year-old player fully deserved the title of the best player of 2022. Moreover, he was able to get around his French competitor, who took second place at the end of the year. In addition to this award, Alexander became the best sniper, which is also a worthy result. According to the general statistics, he made 0.83 frags every round and showed the best Impact rating – 1.32. Moreover, these indicators were shown against the backdrop of a frank deterioration in the team play of NaVi.
2. Mathieu “ZywOo” Herbaut
The star Frenchman once again stopped just a step away from the analogue of the “Golden Soft” in the world of CS. But the reason was his personal performance and a frank decline in terms of team play – you can remember many rounds of the campaign of the year when Vitality lost matches due to the fact that their main firepower made various mistakes. On the other hand, Mathieu is only 22 years old, which means that his career will continue to develop and who knows how this year will end for him.
3. Dmitry “sh1ro” Sokolov
If one of the C9 scorers stopped just a step away from the top three, Dmitry managed to enter it, showing a truly top-class game throughout the year. Of particular interest is the fact that despite the relatively average success in the team standings, objective personal indicators speak for themselves and really allow us to say that this player, if not the best, then one of the best last year.
4. Sergey “Ax1Le” Rykhtorov
Objectively, the best player at the beginning of the year is Gambit, and now Cloud9 has stopped just a step away from the top three of the outgoing year. But hardly anyone will argue that the success of his team is one hundred percent his merit. Of course, the whole team achieves the result, but without Sergey it is difficult to imagine the successful performance of the cloud ones. Last but not least, the secret lies in his confident personal performance, because showing an ADR of 84.2 and surviving 38 percent of the rounds at such a high level of play is an achievement in itself.
5. Nikola “NiKo” Kovač
For this player, getting into the top 20 players in the world is a common thing. Moreover, he set the bar so high for himself that any place other than the first one is considered by him as a defeat. In any case, the powerful Bosnian had a good year for himself, although his team did not always live up to his level. As for personal achievements, we can single out the highest ADR in the amount of 87.2.
6. Helvijs “broky” Saukants
The Latvian legionnaire FaZe deservedly considers this year successful, because in the past he just made it to the top twenty with great difficulty, and in this he confidently took the sixth position. The American team’s sniper continues to gain momentum, steadily improving his game and playing a significant role in the success and failure of his team. Of particular note is the best indicator in victories in 1vXs situations – he won 74 such rounds, which was the best result in 2022.
7. Ilya mONESY Osipov
The young sniper can no longer be called a rookie in the professional arena and his confident performance allowed him to enter the top ten players of last year. Of course, G2 obviously did not have enough stars from the sky this season, but they managed to record several high-profile victories at their own expense. As for personal indicators, 0.74 frags per round at the top level is a decent result. In addition, Ilya feels confident in clutches, taking more than fifty such situations in favor of his team.
8. Robin “ropz” Cool
The young Estonian player had a rather good year, although the ending of 2022 can hardly be considered successful for his FaZe Clan team – the failure at the last Major undermined the fans’ faith in their favorites. Despite this, Robin chalked up 4 championship titles and three prizes, and also won the MVP title at ESL Pro League S15.
9. Kaike kserato Serato
The Brazilian continues to play for FURIA, gradually progressing along with the team. True, now his personal skills go far beyond the capabilities of the team. During the year, the Brazilian team took third place three times in different championships. At the same time, Kaike himself received four EVP Awards, including at IEM Katowice and IEM Rio Major.
10. Martin stavn Lund
Thanks to players like Martin, the Heroic team has gained a lot of momentum by the end of 2022. In addition to high personal results, Stavn also scored a tag team championship at BLAST, second place at the recent Major and bronze medals at IEM Katowice. Separately, we note that according to statistics, he inflicts 83.3 points of damage in each round played.
11. Russell Twistzz van Dulken
Objectively – the Phases failed the end of the year, in any case, ended it much worse than expected. But Russell still continues to show a confident game against any opponent. He fell slightly short of the top 10 this year, but statistics show he has a 1.14 rating in elite tournaments.
12. Benjamin blameF Bremer
Now the Danish Astralis are not going through the best of their times – the team has clearly fallen out of the tops. But her captain Blame proves that tactical team management should not interfere with high personal skill. He even managed to get the MVP title at the Pinnacle Cup.
13. Howard rain Nygaard
The presence of the third FaZe player already shows that in general the year went well for the team, although there are several obvious failures. Despite a number of team failures, the Norwegian remains the main firepower of the team, able to independently decide the fate of not only a single round, but the entire match.
14 Nemanja huNter Kovacs
The younger Kovacs has long stepped out of the shadow of his older brother, proving that he is a powerful player himself. One measure of success is the fact that, as a tier-1 player, he does an average of 79.1 damage per round. As for the team success, the Samurai won only the WF Blast, and also marked the second place in IEM Katowice and several bronze awards.
15. Mareks YEKINDAR Galinskis
The very case when the transition to a new team helped me find my game and start training with renewed vigor. At the beginning of the year, the Latvian began to get lost in the overall picture of the game of the Outsiders, but after being sold to the American club Liquid, Márquez again began to make a big contribution to the result of the team. Last but not least, it was his arrival that helped the liquid ones finish the year on a good note, although they had to spend several months on a relatively painful run-in of the composition.
16. Valery b1t Vakhovsky
The young Ukrainian talent continues to show an excellent game, despite all external factors. Of course, NaVi could not boast of high-profile results in 2022, but there were objective reasons for that. In particular, this applies to changes in the composition. In any case, Valery continues to play an important role in the team’s performance. For example, during the year he was able to drag 51 situation 1s into Xs.
17. David frozen Chernansky
The young player has already managed to get used to the professional scene, becoming one of the most productive scorers of his team. Of course, the team was going through a formative stage in 2022, as the players from the MOUZ academy needed time to enter the big CS. But already at the end of the year, the work done gave its results – bronze medals at the IEM Rio Major.
18. Lotan Spinx Giladi
The Israeli legionnaire of the Finnish team ENCE has joined the team well, being the most powerful clutch player – over the past year he has recorded more than 60 victories in 1vsXs situations. In terms of team success, we can highlight the victory at ESL Pro League S16.
19. Yuri yuurih Santos
Another representative of the Brazilian Furies. The player shows excellent personal results, which allows his team to confidently compete with the giants of the world CS and be an uncomfortable opponent for any opponent. What is the value of ADR 80.7 – at this level, this is a worthy result.
20. Jami Jame Ali
This is the rare case when the captain shows a confident personal game, in addition to playing the role of a sniper. Despite playing under a neutral flag, the team under his leadership became the champion of the IEM Rio Major, which makes the Outsiders the strongest team in the world today.
